AUSTRALIA AS WE SEE IT
Let us introduce you
to the Australia
we know and love.
Coming from the United States myself,
I know how little the world knows
about this beautiful land.
If it isn't on Crocodile Dundee,
then it isn't Australian, right?
WRONG !!!
There is so much more
to Australia than we are led to believe,
or than we are taught in school.
The only thing I remember learning about Australia
is Waltzing Matilda
and that kangaroos live there.
This is such a tragedy !!
Australia's
land area is
7,682,300 square kilometres,
almost as
great as that
of the United States, excluding Alaska.
Australia is also the lowest,
flattest, and apart
from Antarctica,
the driest of the continents.
The Nullarbor Plain of Australia
covers
100,000 square miles
without even one tree.
Unlike Europe and North America,
the landforms
of Australia can be measured
in the millions of years.
Despite the land area similarity,
Australia has only 8 states or territories:
- Queensland
- New South Wales
- Victoria
- Western Australia
- Northern Territory
- South Australia
- Tasmania
- Australian
Capital Territory.
How simple is that?
Makes it a whole lot easier learning the
capitals, I think.
Well, come and see the real Australia with us.
We will
try to update with new photos
as we travel the area.
