FISHING FOOLS

I think Heinz has created a monster!

I LOVE FISHING!!!

I remember going out on Uncle Joe's
'cabin cruiser' when I was younger
(make that 10 or 12 years old)
and can remember the thrill of landing a BIG one!
I also remember standing on the banks
of the Schuylkill River with my kids,
and hating every minute of it.
(I think it was all the stress of baiting
all the hooks, trying to keep them quiet,
trying to keep them from falling in,
and praying that they wouldn't catch anything
so I wouldn't have to take it off the hook!)
Just goes to show you that times can change.
Now, I love saltwater fishing, and could spend
all day, all night, every day of the year,
either on the rocks or in the boat.
(Hopefully not in the boat on the rocks, though!)
I can still bait the hook, but Heinz has to
unhook anything I catch.
If only they wouldn't wriggle so much!
Some of them have dangerous, stinging barbs, as well.
Maybe one day I will be able to do it,
but if I were Heinz, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting!
Now, on to the fishing.
Our boat is named 'Bugger'.

She ain't new, but she sure is
pretty, and she is all ours.

This is Heinz with one of the many shovel-nosed rays
we have caught and released.
This particular one was caught off the rocks
at the mouth of the Moruya River.

Check out some of our recent catches!

 Flathead for dinner tonight!
